It's Okay to Take Your Own Life Pause or Mini Pivot
What 1 simple step or key decision you can make today to bring YOUR life back into alignment?
Have you even defined what it is you want in order to even start to work towards that alignment?
Today I want to challenge you with a short podcast but an important one and message in that I ask if you’ve stopped and figured out if you need either a break or a mini-pivot and if so, if you’ve given yourself the permission and even the blessing to do so.
So join me today as we touch base briefly on making sure you’re in alignment with what you need right now, how it is okay for you to take your own life pause or mini pivot and how I'll be your biggest cheerleader to do just that….

Welcome back everyone! I hope you’re having a fantastic start to summer 2021
Especially as we’re able to gather more and get out and explore more safely right now, it’s so awesome to see everyone funding their fun and really - probably now more than ever - enjoying and cherishing their time with family and friends.
I'll dive into today's topic in a moment but I want to start by thanking you all for your amazing support as I’ve built this podcast. I appreciate your comments and recommendations as I continue to have the opportunity to meet and learn from so many smart and strong and resilient women - I feel very blessed as I reflect on the wonderful new connections I've had and the wonderful new conversations we’ve had.
So again, thank you
Ok, so I had a great 1-2 punch this week…..what does that mean???
2 key factors are influencing my latest - and definitely not last - mini pivot. Recreate Action Tank 2021 and my next podcast episode.
First, I was completely inspired as I just wrapped up kicking off the fun "rek-ree-ate" part of Action Tank 2021 with Recreate Founders Melissa and Kimberly. I had the opportunity to sit with and learn from this new community of women all over 50 going after their entrepreneurial dreams or scaling their dream business to the next level and I have the pinch-me-now responsibility of setting up and helping the Action Tank members go after their own Live it now list ideas.
It was fantastic and totally reaffirming that we all have so many great ideas and so much interest to grow these ideas into new or expanded businesses to help so many. I then again had the pinch-me-now responsibility of exploring the area to strategize and plan for our group activities at the live event meetings in the coming months. So much fun - even though it was mind blowing hot in Phoenix - so had to make sure pool time was included in the onsite research.
I share pictures and more in my FB group and Instagram so check it out or contact me directly if you'd like more info on Recreate's awesome Action Tank and if you dig it, secure a spot for the next Mastermind.
These activities thankfully took longer than I planned but again, I'm so grateful to have this type of problem to have to address.
The second factor in my 1-2 punch happened while I was working on a recent interview for an upcoming episode with a wonderful woman named Michela currently living in Italy - oh so delightful. Michela is a life coach and travel goddess who has a passion for learning and truly benefiting from as she states, living in alignment and pausing to check in regularly to ensure where she is and what she is doing is completely congruent with what she wants. Especially at this chapter of her life.
I decided to reflect on all I've learned from Michela and all of my wonderful guests and put their teachings into practice.
It was then that I realized I was not in alignment and creating unnecessary stress.
So I decided to pause, breathe and even then decide to take my own mini pivot.
I have been working diligently to publish a new podcast on Wednesdays each week and I've truly enjoyed it. I've enjoyed seeing the comments and shares within our DestinationU free Facebook group and I absolutely love helping and learning from the members in our Inspiring Your Next VIP Community. There's been so much we've all been able to share and do in the past year - even in the face of Covid challenges.
But all of this takes significant time and lately as other parts of my business is growing, I was feeling significant stress to complete all the steps to continue publishing and posting each week.
I decided I will continue my podcast but adjust the timing and cadence a bit to reflect again more changes in my life.
I had already been living with more intention and a desire to maintain the high bar I've set for myself but it was really good to decide that going forward, I will publish every other Wednesday to minimize unnecessary stress and ensure I can maintain the quality of ALL aspects of my work in DestinationU and amazing InspiringYourNEXT VIP Community.
I will also celebrate the fact 1) that I am blessed again to have the opportunity to make this change and 2) that I have the courage to continue honoring what I want my life to be and to continue to take steps to stay in alignment every day.
This is a simple step but a significant decision with significant time demands and impact in my schedule and in my life.
And sometimes, these mini pivots sometimes are just as life changing as the biggies, so I want to challenge you and then cheer you on.
What 1 simple step or key decision you can make today to bring YOUR life back into alignment? Have you even defined what it is you want in order to even start to work towards that alignment?
If not, I hope you'll listen to a few earlier episodes of my Life Reimagined podcast to give you the key questions and helpful hints to get you there faster. Or maybe you just need a quick reminder to continue prioritizing your needs and how to best put it into practice. Or maybe just feel understood and comforted to hear how someone else overcame a much greater challenge to now see and benefit from the wisdom of going through that experience.
I invite you to also check out additional resources within the DestinationU Community meant to inspire all of us over 40 and 50 and to provide the key how-to steps. You can connect to all of it through my website at destinationu.net, including my blog, videos, Instagram images and how to join our free FB group or for the slightly more daring, how to join our incredible VIP Inspiring Your Next Community. We have upcoming free webinars on why you need to and how to set up an epic hike and upcoming group activities like group hikes and intro to fly fishing in October designed to 1) inspire you, 2) connect you and 2) help you try something new with other fun-loving and adventurous women over 40 & 50.
Let me know by commenting here or in other social media posts if you take on my challenge and share what 1 simple step or key decision you WILL make today to bring YOUR life back into alignment. It's more than okay to give yourself permission to go ahead and take that extra day at the beach with your friend. To spend 15 more minutes chatting with and really connecting with your son, daughter, sibling, parent. To go to the park and journal, paint or meditate. Or to go on that sweet nature walk or epic hike. To go after any and every adventure possible.
Appreciate it, embrace it and revel in the experience, because these are the sweet moments that make up a great life….not the great work deadline you just met.
Tackling this head on takes courage and action and I am here to support you every step of the way. Yay for YOU! These are blessings and a reminder to not set arbitrary limits or unnecessary deadlines and that these pauses, the decision and these pivots to live with more intention - maybe even slow it down a bit - are needed and are sooooo good.
